Dans deux semaines, c’est Noël! (J’ai presque trouvé tous les cadeaux pour mes proches: Exploit!) Pour l’occasion, j’ai adopté ce pull jacquard qui sera parfait pour une belle photo de famille (dans ce genre là?) devant le sapin. En plus, il est super chaud et je prie de toutes mes forces pour qu’il ne se mette pas à boulocher (pour le moment il a l’air de bien se tenir). Et comme je ne voulais pas basculer dans un trip « Les bronzés font du ski », je l’ai agrémenté de mon trench et d’un short un cuir: C’est ma manière à moi de faire glisser le skieur en hors-piste direction le bitume citadin.

Et ces petites Minnetonkas qui ne sont pas de la marque Minnetonka, c’est pour prolonger le confort du pull: c’est comme si je portais des pantoufles. Donc un skieur qui slalome sur les trottoirs de Paris en pantoufles… c’est un peu l’esprit de la tenue: Aurais-je abusé du grog?

In two weeks it’s Christmas! (I’ve almost found all the presents for my relatives: what an accomplishment!) For the occasion I’ve adopted this fair isle sweater that will be perfect for a nice family photo (like these ones?) in front of the Christmas tree. On top of that it’s super warm and I’m praying really hard for it not to pill (at the moment it looks like it’s behaving). And since I didn’t want to look like a character taken out of a ski comedy movie (like « Les bronzés font du ski » for those of you that are familiar with French cinema), I combined it with my trench coat and a leather pair of shorts: it’s my way of having the skier glide along off-piste towards the urban asphalt.

And those little Minnetonkas that aren’t from the Minnetonka brand, that’s to prolong the comfort of the sweater: it’s as if I was wearing slippers. So in short, a skier who slaloms on the sidewalks of Paris in slippers… that’s a bit the spirit of the outfit: or have I had too much of the grog already? (English translation by LN)

My moodboard

En ce moment, je dirais que j’ai un peu de mal à trouver l’inspiration lorsque j’ouvre mon armoire pour m’habiller. Je n’oserais pas dire que je n’ai plus rien à me mettre (ou j’obtiendrais un gloussement narquois de la part de mon homme) mais moi qui clamais haut et fort que ma saison préférée c’était l’hiver, vestimentairement parlant, j’admets qu’un petit 20 degrés de derrière les fagots (ensoleillé et sans vent si possible), c’est la perfection pour trouver de jolies tenues sans trop réfléchir.

Du coup, je me suis dit qu’un petit « moodboard » serait utile pour remettre les idées en place, visualiser ce que j’aimerais porter, repérer les accessoires et habits qui me font craquer. A défaut d’en avoir réalisé un vrai en découpant dans les magazines et en punaisant les photos sur un tableau en liège, j’en fabrique un ici avec vous! (L’avantage c’est que mes magazines restent intacts !). Ranger mon armoire serait aussi un premier pas pour se rafraîchir les idées mais attendez, attendez…une chose à la fois s’il vous plaît!

These days I’d say that I’m a bit struggling to find inspiration when I open my wardrobe to get dressed up. I won’t dare to say that I don’t have anything to wear anymore (otherwise I would get a mocking chuckle from my hubby) but I, who claimed loud and clear that winter was my favourite season, in terms of clothing, have to admit that a small 20 degrees Celsius just out of the blue (sunny and without wind if possible) would be perfection for finding nice outfits without too much thinking.

So I thought that a small « mood board » would be useful to clear my head, visualize what I would like to wear, spot the accessories and clothes that I like most. Instead of making one for real by cutting photos out of magazines and pinning them onto a cork board, I’m just making one here with you! (the advantage is that my magazines remain intact this way!). Sorting out my wardrobe would also be a first step towards refreshing ideas but hold on, hold on… one thing at a time please! (English translation by LN)

Don’t !

J’ai ressorti mon manteau-blazer que j’aime tant! Quand il faut le sortir, ce n’est pas vraiment un bon présage puisque cela signifie qu’il fait de plus en plus frisquet (+ temps pourri comme en témoignent les photos) mais ce manteau trouvé l’an dernier en soldes est un de mes manteaux favoris: il a un côté rassurant, douillet et il va avec la majorité des habits de mon dressing.

Pour fêter ça , j’ai commis ce qui théoriquement n’est pas recommandé de faire (…enfin, les magazines veulent nous faire peur avec un « Don’t!! » d’avertissement): j’ai mis deux touches de léopard dans ma tenue! Je n’y suis pas allée franco non plus puisque les chaussettes, ce n’est pas ce que l’on voit en premier mais je l’ai fait quand même! J’ai même poussé ce côté rebelle du dimanche en posant sous la pluie SANS parapluie: Shocking!

I took out my blazer coat that I like so much! It’s not really a good sign when it’s time to get it out as this means that it’s getting chillier (+ bad weather as you can tell from the pictures) but this coat I found on sale last year is one of my favourite coats: it has a reassuring, cozy side, and it fits to the majority of clothes that I have in my wardrobe.

To celebrate that, I did what is theoretically not recommended to do (… well, magazines want to scare us with a « Don’t!! » warning): I put two touches of leopard in my outfit! I wasn’t too bold about it though since socks aren’t what you see first, but I still did it! I even took this rebel side of the Sunday further by posing in the rain with NO umbrella: Shocking!
