Thai getaway

· Fashion, Travel

As I was saying in my previous seasonal greetings, I left for a week in Thailand, to take in the heat (31° C!) and the sun, but first and foremost to rest.

Which means this trip wasn’t undertaken in the same spirit as the previous ones: no pressure to make the most of our stay, with regards to cultural visits. No guilty feelings at all to just laze away on the beach (not forgetting sunscreen, of course), the main purpose of this getaway trip was to recharge the batteries.

Beach and rest in Phuket

We headed for Phuket, a destination I had been discouraged to try on my previous trips, as it was apparently “uninteresting” and “too touristy”.

But since this time, our admitted goal was to soak in as much sun as possible and enjoy the beach, not only did we have nothing to loose by going, but I wanted to make up my own mind on the place.

So, well, yes, if you’re in Thailand for the first time and don’t have much time to spend there, I’m not sure it’s really worth a stop, but I did enjoy it, and the people we met were just as friendly as those we had met in Bangkok or the north of Thailand. To be noted though: prices here are a bit steeper than in other parts of the country.

Koh Phi Phi

There are boats that leave from Phuket and head to various nearby islands. We left our deck chairs just long enough for a day trip to Koh Phi Phi.

Contrary to what can be seen on my pictures, the place is packed with tourists (hehe, I was extremely patient and found just the right angle for those pictures!), which was a bit of a disappointment, but it was still worth seeing!

Please forgive me if I’m not providing much of an insight to my trip (I’m not sure you’d be very interested in knowing which deck chair you should choose in the morning or the best time of the day to turn your sun umbrella) it was the first time ever I did absolutely nothing all day long.

We did hunt out some good food though (not doing anything does not imply not eating anything), I’ll be sure to tell you about those in my next post!

Happy Holidays to all !

It’s almost Christmas! I was desperate to get as far from this horrible cold and wet parisian weather as possible, and opted to head for …. Thailand!

I’ll be back really soon: I wish you a whole lot of good times and surprises by the Christmas tree … I’ll be setting my own gifts under a coconut tree (that’s global warming right there folks!). Happy holidays to all! (English translation by Bleu Marine)

Like a boy

· Fashion

I enjoy wearing feminine outfits but after a while, I need to get back to a more masculine look. The brogues and the boyfriend jeans are urgently calling.

I admire people who are constant with their look, sticking to a one and only style. If I was always forced to wear delicate and glamorous garments, I would feel oppressed. On the other hand, to be condemned to only wear very masculine outfits, I think I would live with it much better. Weird, no?

Whatever the weather, if you have an explanation for that, I won’t mind lying down on a sofa for a psychoanalysis. (English translation by TradIsa)
