Chocolate box Olympia Le-Tan for Pierre Marcolini

If you are dyslexic, this article is going to confuse a lot more. Indeed, for a while, I admit that I needed a thinking pause to dissociate the creations of Charlotte Olympia and those of Olympia Le-Tan. Both English, which doesn’t help!

Anyhow, I appreciate the originality of those two designers: one is well know for her hand stitched book clutch bags, the other, for her off the wall and fun accessories (I broke the bank for her phone bag that I consider an art object that I never tire of admiring). Both have kept their children’s spirit intact without compromising on the elegance and that’s what I like.

So I decided to regroup in a drawing the accessories that I like the most of the two brands. But if I had to make a choice between the “Olympias” I would lean more towards Charlotte…and what about you? (English translation by TradIsa)

Chunky

· Fashion

The freezing wind of these past few days pushed me to invest in new headgears. So far, I was mostly attracted by soft and sagging beanies, but this year the bigger, the better.

In search of “chunky” hats, I found this one and another more imposant one from H&M; my only regret is that they aren’t knitted with genuine wool (so, “Super Saiyan hair” effect after taking the hat off)…

That said, I am planning to place an order with my very dear mom (aka Momo), who I adore and who I’m sure can’t wait to keep her long wintery days in Auvergne busy with knitting a big beanie for her sweet little daughter.

In my kitchen

· Decoration, Fashion, Food

As I was telling you, I’m more home design than fashion oriented nowadays …

And lately, it’s been narrowed down to kitchen design: I’ve noticed I enjoy spending more an more time in the kitchen – trying out savory and sweet recipes. This would have been unthinkable a couple of years back for the kitchen klutz I was!

It’s just proof that when you start at rock bottom, you can only get better! Haha! Hence my idea to share my culinary experimentation HQ with you!

Ooooooh my fridge!

For Christmas, my SO and I treated ourselves to this fridge we had been dreaming of since, well…forever: a retro look and this glossy candy-like mint color … you could just eat it!

Since, we’ve been trying to buy color-coordinated kitchenware: tea towels, cutting boards, trinkets. I’m obsessed. Need more proof? … Just look at my nails!

Mug cake

I had already seen pictures on Pinterest, but I only decided to give it a try when I found this recipe book for sweet mug cakes (I’ve bought the one for the savory recipes since).

The mug cake is a cake with a mug or cup in lieu of a cake-pan; it’s the perfect treat for all those of you who are on the impatient side for it takes 5 minutes tops to prepare and 1 minute to bake in the microwave: it’s magic!

In this book, lots of chocolate recipes that look absolutely fantastic (Nutella or with a liquid center … yum!!) but I’m keeping those for winter/chocolate related emergencies.

For the time being, I tried to bake (quite a big word for such a small effort!) a matcha green tea and raspberries mug cake: surprisingly good and it being ready so quickly may be the best part of it all!

I decided to start a recipe book to list all the recipes I’ll have found convincing. Give it a try, and let me know what you think! (English translation by Bleu Marine)
