H&M, tôt ou tard on y revient. D’ailleurs en ce moment , j’ai bien fait d’y revenir car je suis tombée sur un portant entier « soldé ». Je suis d’ailleurs perdue entre les dates des vrais soldes, soldes flottants et autre super affaire à saisir: j’ai l’impression que les ristournes chez eux, c’est tout le temps. Et H&M c’est comme chez Ikea, on part dans l’idée de ne rien acheter mais on sort automatiquement avec un petit quelque chose ( sans les fameuses querelles de couples au sujet de la largeur d’une bibliothèque Billy : « Je te dis que ça passe!… Mais nooon! Tu délires! ça passe pas!… » et sans le vendeur de polo jaune vêtu en guise d’arbitre). Ce jour-là pour moi, l’équivalent de la bougie Ikea à shopper en fin de parcours , c’était ce pantalon aux motifs ethniques. Au prix exceptionnel de 2 bougies Ikea et demi. L’odeur en moins mais la satisfaction en plus.

We all come back to H&M at some point. In fact, lately, it’s a good thing I came back, because I fell nose to nose with a whole rack of items on sale. By the way, I am kind of confused between the dates of real sales, floating sales and other incredible bargains you’re not supposed to miss out on : I get the feeling that they always have some sort of discount going on. And H&M is just like Ikea, you go in with the idea you’re not buying anything today, but always come out with a little something (minus the famous couple arguments regarding the width of a Billy bookshelf : « I’m telling you it fits!…You’re completely delirious! It absolutely doesn’t!… » and minus the yellow shirt adorned salesman to arbitrate). Today for me, the equivalent of the Ikea candle you pick up on your way out is this pair of ethnic print pants. At the incredible and exceptionnal price of two and a half Ikea candles. Minus the scent, but with satisfaction as my cherry on top. (English translation by Bleu Marine)

Transparences et déchirures

En ce moment , vous l’aurez peut être remarqué, je suis attirée par tout ce qui est tailladé, déchiré ou transparent : tout ce qui laisse voir à travers sans qu’on ne voie rien et aussi tout ce qui laisse croire que je me suis faite courser par une meute de loups affamés. La tenue du jour est donc composée du mélange des deux à grand coup de short élimé ( et rescapé des loups , donc… mais admirez un peu comme ils m’ont attaquée de matière symétrique tout de même!) et ce pull ajouré, que même dans mes cauchemars les plus fous, je ne sais pas comment on peut arriver à le tricoter , vu la variation des motifs, des transparences, des rayures…bref, trop technique pour moi.

Lately, you might have noticed, I am attracted by everything that is slashed, teared up or transparent: everything that can let’s see through without seeing anything and also everything that might let you think that I’ve been hunt down by a starving wolf pack. So, today’s outfit is a mix of both, with a threadbare short (who survived form the wolves, you see… But admire the way they attacked me in such a symmetrical way!) and this openwork jumper, that even in my craziest nightmare, I don’t really know how you can knit it, especially with the pattern variation, the transparency, the stripes… Well, too technical for me. Crush on Alexa Chung

Je me réveille souvent bien tard au sujet des « it-girls » . D’ailleurs , je n’aime pas vraiment ce terme car on a l’impression qu’il faut savoir apprécier cette fille du moment au bon moment, sinon c’est fini. En ce qui concerne Alexa Chung, cela fait quelques années que je la suis distraitement de loin et au départ, je me disais: moui, c’est pas mal ce qu’elle porte mais c’est plutôt simple non? Rien de spécial?… Et c’est là que je me fourrais le doigt dans l’oeil …puisqu’en analysant une à une ses tenues , je me suis rendue compte que le génie d’Alexa Chung (rien que ça oui!) résidait dans sa simplicité. Elle ne cherche pas à être extravagante mais ne tombe pas dans la transparence fade non plus. Elle est chic tout en restant cool. (Son capital cool est d’ailleurs renforcé par le fait qu’elle est la petite copine du leader des Arctic Monkeys et se retrouve doublement renforcé par le fait qu’on bave toutes sur le sac Mulberry qui porte son nom). Alexa, s’il te plaît, reste donc spéciale dans ta simplicité et continue à nous inspirer…

I’m often way behind regarding the whole « it-girls » subject. I don’t really like the word actually, you get the feeling you have to appreciate the girl of the moment at the right moment, otherwise it’s over. Concerning Alexa Chung, I’ve been absentmindedly following her from a distance for a couple of years , and at first, I said to myself: yeaaaah, it’s not bad what she’s wearing, but it’s pretty simple isn’t it? Nothing all that special? …and that’s where I was totally barking up the wrong tree…since after analyzing her outfits one by one, I realized that the genius of Alexa Chung (yes, genius,nothing less than that!) resides in her simplicity. She doesn’t try to be extravagant but never falls into bland transparency. She’s chic and cool all at the same time. (Her coolness capital is reinforced by the fact that she’s the girlfriend of the Arctic Monkeys’ lead singer and doubly reinforced by the fact that we’re all drooling over the Mulberry bag with her name on it). So Alexa, please, stay special in you simple way, and continue to inspire us.(English translation by Bleu marine)
