Watch my watches

· Fashion

I don’t think I ever shared a pic of my “family of watches” with you guys : people have been asking about it via emails or messages.

(…not at all actually. Nobody ever asked me about it, but I was hoping that fake info would increase your interest, haha).

My little collection

As you can see, each watch shows a different time. It’s not to be on different time-zones, “organized globe-trotter” style, but simply that the heart of some stopped beating, and that for some others, they’d need to be set on either summer or winter time.

And it’s because the battery died that I’m no longer able to wear my cat-watch : it’s dead set on 12 PM, which is kind of problematic. It’s one of the cheapest from my collection, yet one of my favorite. One of my resolutions for this month is to get the battery changed!

Some of you who have been following me for some time may recognize my Jeremy Scott x Swatch watch – it lost some of its visual appeal since I lost the wings, but it’s still part of the collection, so here it is!

Those that are attentive to detail may also note that one of my Casio watches is missing : it couldn’t stay propped up correctly for the picture, so I had to let it be.

The “Instagram” watch

This post is also an occasion to show you my latest acquisition : an “Instagram” watch, as I like to call it, because you keep seeing it everywhere on Intagram pictures. There are different brands with the same type of minimalist design. The visual marketing lobotomy worked perfectly on my brain as you can see, and for the time being, I’m quite satisfied with it.

Be prepared to see this watch laying carelessly across a Mac keyboard, next to a #ButfirstCoffee mug (alas, I don’t drink coffee), settled on expertly crumpled white sheets … in a nutshell … Instagram!

In any case, I love all members of my little family – from the youngest to the oldest, not forgetting the broken … no jealousy! (English translation by Marine)

Back to cool

Back to work! I hope you had wonderful holidays (or maybe you are preparing your coming holidays). September is around the corner and even if this scorching weather isn’t really in line with it, the new Fall collections are here!

I braved the heat a few minutes to take pictures of this 100% La Redoute “back-to-work” outfit (thankfully the fountain played the role of atomizer). But it will certainly be the clothes I will be wearing when the temperatures will be cooler.

Generally speaking, I particularly like the association with dungarees and laces top. The laces help to make the dungarees look fancier.

Here, I added a “preppy” touch with these ballerinas with perfect size heels and this leather purse (which could be exchanged by a backpack if I had to go back to school!).

Actually, if you would like to create your September outfit at La Redoute, I’m launching a small Instagram contest (until friday) to win a 200 euros voucher... Check it out! (English translation by Quiterie)

I’m slowly making a come-back after a summer blog-break, and this is a special article. I already told you that this blog brought me a lot human-wise, since thanks to said blog, a number of people I met through it (professionnally or not) became great friends.

It’s the case with Lionel, that you must begin to know: my partner in crime for all Dawson’s creek and Hunger Games marathons, I also keep mentioning him on all my social media.

…Let me play among the butterflies ♬

Everything started 4 years ago, with a friendly professionnal email regarding my illustrator activity … In the following years we became friends.

A beautiful fraternal friendship that brought us together for so many great moments that we decided to capture it in a photoshoot.

We wanted to mix magic and yummy things (= our shared passion! haha)

I contacted Laura, that I had met during a portait drawing event for Swarovski last December. That day, she told me she had been following my blog since she was 14 years old (haha, that’s not making us any younger!) and shortly after, I discovered her work and her pretty poetic pictures.

…in other words, hold my hand♩

A couple of tripartite conversations and Pinterest boards later, we were all set for a shoot in May, praying for good weather – which was miraculously present!

I won’t talk about our “backstage moments”, in order to keep the magic intact, but know that we encountered a number of technical difficulties (… and mosquito bites!) to get the result you see.

We really tried to think outside of the box to overcome all our technical issues, but these two days will remain amongst the best memories I have related to this blog.

I hope you’ll enjoy the magical atmosphere of this shoot and that we somehow managed to visually transcribe our complicity.

…in other words, I love you ♫

Thank you Laura for your talent, your lovely enthusiasm, patience and general sweetness. This shoot wouldn’t have been possible without your vision. And thank you Lionel : I don’t need to write you why, you already know. (English translation by Marine)
