You must be aware that one of my favorite movie saga is Hunger Games. For the past few years, around this period, my friend Lionel and myself even had the habit to organise a DVD marathon before going to watch the last one in a movie theater (ah! Nostalgia!).
The last episode was broadcast in November 2015. In this one, we assisted to a commando operation with Katniss Everdeen, Finnick, Gale, Peetaaaa <3 and other members from squad 451 to the Capitol of Panem in order to kill the President Snow… and this scene happens exactly where I am standing on these pictures !
Capitol or District… 93 ?
Indeed the filming of “Hunger Games, Mockingjay, Part 2” was done in the suburb of Paris at Noisy-Le-Grand, in the impressive Espaces d’Abraxas: a housing project designed by the Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill.
Keen of movie/tv pilgrims of all kind, I’ve been thinking about going to this place for a while but the weather was always too good for the dark, austere and apocalyptic ambiance that I was looking for.
Looking at the gloomy weather this weekend we decided to stop by this place, but without the squad 451. For a short moment I became Mockingjay 2017 version.
Hoodie today, hoodie tomorrow, hoodie forever
In terms of look, a grey hoodie I’ve been looking for some time and that I finally found at Uniqlo in the men section (XS size): thick quilted fabric, good shape and simple design. I am planning to coordinate it with a coat or a blazer this winter to minimize the “sportswear” look.
Here I chose to wear a mix of kaki and grey, for a fancy-military rendering and to add a woman’s touch, silvered accessories, including the talked about immunity necklace!
I am ready, the Hunger Games can start now… May the odds be ever in my favor! (English translation by Quiterie)
PS : For the fans, here’s in this article an interesting video that compares reality and the movie scene.
