Ce Jean rose-corail-couleur indéfinie, je ne pensais vraiment pas qu’il aurait une aussi grande capacité à se mélanger à ma garde-robe ! Depuis l’année dernière, j’ai réussi à « pondre » pas mal de tenues avec, saison apres saison. C’est d’ailleurs assez étonnant pour un vêtement coloré. En effet, contrairement aux vernis à ongles, j’ai du mal à adopter des habits trop flashy : j’ai peur de me lasser ( je tarde d’ailleurs dans ma quête du manteau de couleur, et bien sûr je sens que je vais le trouver quand il fera 30 degrés à l’ombre). Et là finalement, en mode « températures polaires », mon jean coloré répond encore présent : belle surprise !

I really didn’t think that these jeans of undefined pink-coral colour would have such a great capacity to mix with my wardrobe! Since last year, I’ve managed to come up with quite a few outfits with it, season after season – which is a bit surprising for such a colored garment. Indeed, unlike nail polish, I find it hard to adopt clothes that are too flashy: I’m just afraid to get tired of wearing them (my quest for a coloured coat is by the way taking a long time, I’ll for sure find it when it’s 30 degrees outside). And yet, in polar temperature mode, I can still count on my coloured jeans: what a nice surprise ! (English translation by LN)

Après un premier show « découverte », voici enfin mes impressions sur le défilé Haute Couture Printemps été 2012 Jean Paul Gaultier auquel j’ai eu la chance d’assister il y a une semaine en compagnie de mes comparses ambassadrices , Stéphanie et Pauline. Je ne sais pas vraiment par où commencer sachant qu’encore une fois Jean Paul m’a remuée les émotions avec cet hommage à Amy Winehouse. Tout le défilé s’est articulé autour d’elle, commençant par un a cappella enjoué de « Rehab » par le quatuor Tale of voices.

After a « first exposure » show, here are my impressions on the Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2012 fashion show of Jean Paul Gaultier, that I was lucky enough to attend last week, along with my 2 girlfriend ambassadors Stéphanie and Pauline. I don’t really know where to start, Jean Paul moved me with his Amy Winehouse homage. The whole show articulated itself around her, and started with an a cappella version of « Rehab » by the Tale of Voices quartet.

Des créations « revisitées » ( je regarde trop Top Chef ) par le maestro Jean Paul : la jupe crayon, le trait d’eye liner, la coiffure choucroutée, les couleurs pétantes, tout y était. C’est comme si on avait enfermé dans un blender tout ce qui faisait l’essence du look d’Amy avec une énorme pincée de magie JPG et qu’il en serait ressorti … un smoothie à la fois doux et énergisant (Je regarde encore trop Top Chef ).

Classics have been « revisited » (I’m watching Top Chef) by the maestro that is Jean Paul : the pencil skirt, the eye liner, the beehive, the flashy colors, it was all there. It’s like if all the essence of Amy’s look had been put in a blender with a huge pinch of the JPG magic and out would have come … a both soft and invigorating smoothie (I’m still watching too much Top Chef).

Puis l’émotion brute : la voix d’Amy résonne entre les quatre murs de la maison de couture, laissant place à des mannequins endeuillées ou mariées -la frontière n’est pas vraiment définie- pour se terminer par une ovation du public à la fois déstabilisé, emporté, charmé et ému. Amy chantait « You know I’m no good ». Jean Paul vient de lui démontrer le contraire.

And then there was all this raw emotion : Amy’s voice resounding in the Couture house, making way for either married or mourning models – the line between the two wasn’t very clear – to finish with a public ovation. People were moved, charmed, and touched all at the same time. Amy sang « You know I’m no good ». Jean Paul just proved her wrong.(English translation by Bleu Marine)

Le réchauffement de la robe

Cette robe est une trouvaille de soldes que j’ai failli ne pas adopter car le mannequin sur le site la portait assez bizarrement : autrement dit avec une ceinture façon kimono que je croyais incrustée à la robe (pas trop de rapport entre cette ceinture de geisha et la robe de communiante du Pensionnat Sainte Thérèse, non?…) Le fait est que je l’ai prise quand même lorsque j’ai compris qu’il n’y avait PAS de ceinture soudée dessus et qu’elle serait donc potentiellement jolie. Je ne l’ai portée qu’à l’intérieur pour le moment car avec la baisse des températures, je préfère passer la main à Tokyobibi qui a certainement du sang d’alien en elle et n’a jamais froid.

C’est donc elle, pleine de courage, qui vous montre aujourd’hui comment on peut sortir avec par un temps pareil et comment l’accessoiriser pour la rendre un peu plus plus cool.  Allez hop ! Au boulot Tokyobibi ! (Non non, aucun être humain n’a été maltraité durant ce billet)

This dress is a sales find that almost didn’t happen, because the model on the website was wearing it in an odd fashion : with a kimono like belt that I thought was irremediably part of the dress (and there’s not much in common between this geisha belt and the Saint Theresa boarding school communion dress is there?) The fact is I took it anyway when I understood that the belt wasn’t actually welded to the dress and that it could then be potentially pretty. I have only worn it inside so far because with this temperature drop, I’d much rather let Tokyobibi handle the situation : she must have some alien blood in her, she’s never cold.

Which is why it is her, all courageous, who shows you how you can go outside with such cold weather, and how to accessorize the dress to make it a little bit more cool. Come on now, get to work Tokyobibi! (No human was hurt during this post) (English translation by Bleu Marine)
